Rise of the Alpha: Wolves of Willow Bend Books 1-3

Discover the Wolves of Willow Bend and small town romance with a bite.

Wolf Bite – Mason & Alexis’s story

Caged Wolf – A.J & Vivian’s story

Wolf Claim – Owen & Gillian’s story

I love this whole series. Having read each story individually, it is so much easier to have them in sets like this. There’s enough to keep it interesting without overwhelming your attention. If I’m binge reading, I want to just flip the page and start the next one.

What I didn’t like is that the prequel, “Wolf in Law” and the one that bridges between Wolf Claim and Rogue Wolf, “Wolf Next Door” wasn’t included. Those stories are important and add a lot of information to the overall world building.

USA Today bestselling author, Heather Long, likes long walks in the park, science fiction, superheroes, Marines, and men who aren’t douche bags. Her books are filled with heroes and heroines tangled in romance as hot as Texas summertime.

From paranormal historical westerns to contemporary military romance, Heather might switch genres, but one thing is true in all of her stories–her characters drive the books. When she’s not wrangling her menagerie of animals, she devotes her time to family and friends she considers family.

She believes if you like your heroes so real you could lick the grit off their chest, and your heroines so likable, you’re sure you’ve been friends with women just like them, you’ll enjoy her worlds as much as she does.

Heather is best known for her 18-book paranormal romance series Wolves of Willow Bend.

Heather’s other fantasy romance series include the paranormal westerns Fevered Hearts starting with Marshal of Hel Dorado, Black Hill Wolves which start with What a Wolf Wants, Witches of Mane Street, Mongrels, and the Bravo Team WOLF series.

Her contemporary romance series include: Always a Marine, Going Royal, Elite Warriors, The Love Thieves, beginning with Catch Me and Lone Star Leathernecks, beginning with Semper Fi Cowboy.

Heather is well-represented in fantasy with her her superhero series Boomers, a sci-fi western called Space Cowboy Survival Guide, an urban fantasy series called the Chance Monroe Adventures, and a stand-alone ghost novel titled Haunt Me.

Wolf Unleashed (Wolves of Willow Bend Book 14)

Unfortunately, Charlie has dealt with wolves and humans just like Luc before and it doesn’t matter how sexy he is, she refuses to be impressed.

Change swept through the packs of North America, leaving in its wake seven packs where once only five stood. Old enemies still lurk, past hatreds fester, and the shadow of invaders linger. The challenge of diplomacy, evaluating the old laws, and instituting the new ones falls squarely on the shoulders of the pack Seconds. It’s a whole new world, and what took so long to construct…remains vulnerable.

Luc Danes is Second, and best friend, to Brett Dalton the Alpha of Hudson River. He has his hands full training healer and alpha’s mate Colby in how to defend herself as well as hone her wolf senses. It’s not a bad life for a bachelor wolf, not really—except lately, all the eligible females have turned him down. No dates. No playing. Nothing. He’s untouchable. Turns out no one wants to lay a finger on what rumors have labeled the Alpha’s property as the third to the alpha’s pairing leaving Luc one shocked and frustrated wolf.

Just the position he wants to be in when paired with the stunning Charlie who doesn’t know him at all and is unlike any other wolf he’s known. So why can’t he even earn a second look?

Charlotte “Charlie” Miller works in the city, an urban wolf, she rarely sheds her skin for fur. As an executive handling day-to-day meetings for her alpha in New York and around the world, she knows how to handle even the most difficult of individuals. But changes in pack structures across the country require a different kind of handling, and Brett calls in his chief negotiator to back up his Second, and to give him a crash course in diplomacy.

Sigh, Just that! I love this pairing. I’ve been wondering when Luc would find his mate. Charlie is exactly what he needed. It just took a little bit of time!

Coming Soon! Wolf Unleashed (Wolves of Willow Bend #14)

Yes! Finally, Luc Dane’s story. You remember Luc, right? The loveable Lone Wolf from River Wolf, who found his Alpha’s Mate after getting hit by a car? Heather has found him just the right mate. The book has been announced and is available for pre-order. It’s currently set for release on December 24, just in time for Christmas!

Here’s What We Know:

Change swept through the packs of North America, leaving in its wake seven packs where once only five stood. Old enemies still lurk, past hatreds fester, and the shadow of invaders linger. Wolf At Law (Wolves of Willow Bend #0.5)

“Yes.” She graced him with perfect honesty. “I need an attorney. More…I need one I can trust. I want a divorce, but I have to know that you can handle Giles. He’s a dangerous guy, but you’re not looking at me like a concerned lawyer offering his services.”

He wasn’t? It took discipline to school his features. “How am I looking at you?”

“Like a man who likes what he sees.” A hint of spice deepened the air around her, arousal with a touch of excitement. She liked that he looked at her that way.

Long, Heather. Wolf At Law (Wolves of Willow Bend 0.5)

Ryan Huston serves the pack in all their public financial dealings. Connected politically and personally, he possesses a unique ability to segue into and out of human life. He’s never been afraid to use his animal’s dominance to his advantage and, though he and Toman—the Alpha of Willow Bend—are often at odds, his loyalty to the pack has never truly been tested. Not until he meets Tiffany.

Tiffany Anderson grew up hard in a world defined by its uncertainties. Meeting Giles Taglioni seemed like a happy accident turned fairy tale. Five years into the abusive marriage, Tiffany wants out. Tiffany knows Taglioni will never let go of his daughter—he’d kill her before he lets her take Alexis away from him. A desperate woman with no options until a chance encounter changes everything.

Ryan is like no one Tiffany’s ever met, but she doesn’t dare believe him when he offers to help her. Long ago made familiar with the monsters in the dark, she doesn’t dream of princes on white horses sweeping her away. She also never imagined a big, bad wolf was exactly what she needed.

This is such a delightful start to the series, and a wonderful explanation of how Tiffany and Alexis came to Willow Bend. This sets things up so well for what is to come in later books.

His Moonstruck Wolf (The Wolves of Willow Bend #10.5)

“Only a fool asks an outsider for assistance in finding who is meant for them. Now, Christopher and Rachel would’ve found each other eventually. They just needed to be patient. Besides, the matchmaker still has to identify the scent and then see if she can match it to another wolf. It’s only one factor and a gamble at that. You can’t tell who your mate is going to be until you get to know them. None of it is fait accompli.”

“So, you think the matchmaker is what? A jester for the pack? A false hope to those around her?”

“I think she’s just like any other curiosity in New Orleans. Here to please the tourists.”

“Well, that’s utterly fascinating, Mr. Ferrar. Thank you for your insight.”

“Lesley-Anne,” Serafina called as she came to the door with Lincoln quick in close attendance. “There you are. This party is every bit as much you for you as it is for the happy couple. Get in here and dance.”

Lesley-Anne? Lesley-Anne Saucier? Hugo’s hackles rose. The woman straightened and inclined her head toward their alpha.

“I was just getting some air and a lesson on the tomfoolery of having a matchmaker in the pack from Mr. Ferrar here.”

Long, Heather. His Moonstruck Wolf: Wolves of Willow Bend 10.5 . Heather Long. Kindle Edition.

When a matchmaker gets toasted at the after party, she finds the perfect wolf for her in the most unlikely of places. Of course, the last thing he wants is a mate, much less a matchmaking one.

Hugo Ferrar is one busy Hound. Acting as a messenger for his alpha, he spends more time out of New Orleans than in it. Home in the Big Easy for only three days, Hugo has a strict schedule to adhere to—celebrate his brother’s mating, eat and drink his fill, and find a lovely wolf at the masquerade for a fling.

Lesley-Anne Saucier is drunk on life and one too many hurricanes. Her masquerade is just the kind of party Delta Crescent needs, especially since they are celebrating the mating of a popular couple—a match she helped to make. Avoiding her eager fans, Lesley-Anne is bowled over by a wolf in the garden—a stunning, male, perfect for her. The moon is full, the masquerade is in full swing, can the matchmaker find her own perfect mate?

Such a wonderful tale for Valentine’s Day/Mardi Gras! Hugo and Lesley-Anne are a wonderful couple. I’m looking forward to reading about more of the secondary characters from the series.

Holly, Jolly Wolf (Wolves of Willow Bend #9.75)

It’s a Wolves of Willow Bend Holiday Miracle!

Hunter Rory Adler loves Willow Bend, their traditions, and their community. She will do anything for them. When she draws the name of the wolf who walked away for the pack’s secret Santa, she’s torn.

What does she get the wolf she’s had to learn to hate?

After more than a year spent watching over Three Rivers, Collin returns home for the holidays. Fighting a strange sense of malaise, he must come face to face with the challenge the holiday presents, and the wolf he left behind.

Can the magic of pack bring them together again?

This is a darling Holiday novella. We’ve met both of these Hunters in previous stories. Rory in Rogue Wolf, and Collin in Untamed Wolf, just to name a couple off the top of my head! As I’ve said before, I love reading series where characters from previous books pop-up in a book. You will enjoy this one!

This wonderful Holiday short is only available for free on Instafreebie!

Ghost Wolf (Wolves of Willow Bend #12)

Most Lone Wolves have a story—a pack they left behind, a love they lost, or worse, one they buried. Some leave their packs to roam because they crave freedom, and independence. Some leave because in their hearts, they can’t bear to stay. Some leave because they see no way to go back…

Packs attacked. Humans forced to turn. Enforcers murdered. Following near miss assassination attempts on several prominent wolves. The packs are furious, out for blood and ready for war. Julian has been juggling the conflict without a real target for months, they always seem to be just one step behind the Volchitsa and even the wolves they’ve captured can’t tell them enough. With the fate of the packs resting squarely on his shoulders, Julian, the Chief Enforcer, will swallow his pride to seek out the one wolf he knows can help them all, the one who seems to know all the players, who can think like them…if anyone can find the Volchitsa it’s the ghost he’s hunted for decades…

Dallas Dalton has lived on the run so long, she doesn’t really remember any other way of life. For an all too brief time, she had her daughter with her and the feeling of family until Julian got to too close once again. The damn wolf wouldn’t leave her be, no matter how much she’d sacrificed for him. Seeing him in Russia had been both a blessing and a curse, because no matter what she did, she couldn’t get him out of her system. Then he asked her for help…

Now side-by-side, the Enforcer and the Rogue will have to work together to deal with the Volchitsa once and for all, but can they keep from killing each other in the process?

Long, Heather. Ghost Wolf (Wolves of Willow Bend Book 12) . Heather Long. Kindle Edition.

The process of elimination has led back to Julian and Dallas. At some point in their past, they did something or said something that caused the current state of affairs. But they are left asking who, what, when, where, and why. Gathering trusted Enforcers plus Margo and her Mate, Julian drives his boat out to sea 🌊 for some hard questions.

Julian hadn’t always been the Chief Enforcer. Dallas hadn’t always been a Rogue Wolf. So, how and when did they meet? As the details unfold, some things become clearer. Unfortunately, not everything does. The group is left with more questions than answers.

As the past of Julian and Dallas is divulged, stray details start to jump out. Only by being honest with themselves, are they going to solve the mystery.

The attention to detail is phenomenal. This brings everyone back to finally solve the mystery. An absolutely wonderful conclusion to this series. I look forward to reading more about these packs.
